Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”
This is a well-regarded sci-fi film, I guess for its very unusual setting and design, and for the clever way that it makes the humans the oppressors in an alien-invasion story. But I felt like any points that it had to make about out-of-control corporations and apartheid and mistreatment of refugees was made in the first ten minutes, leaving an unsatisfying action movie to take up the rest of the running time. The absence of any appealing characters really hurt the enjoyment factor. Great visual and sound effects, though.
