Finding Dory
Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”
This bears all of the Pixar hallmarks, from dazzling animation to powerful emotion to playful humor. But as fast as it goes, it can't outrun the feeling of being unnecessary, of existing only by corporate mandate. There is little new creative ground broken here. Pixar needs to resume innovating and spend less time autocannibalizing with purposeless sequels.
