If you've wondered what all the fuss was about regarding the Higgs boson particle and the Large Hadron Collider, but not been able to fully understand the news stories without a physics degree, this is the documentary for you. Although it was directed by a physicist, it takes pains to explain its concepts in lay terms, with superb animation to illustrate the ideas. It also makes sense of the passion felt by the physicists as they work on the project and debate the meaning of its results, and puts a human face on the story by focusing on several key individuals who have screen charisma. Like the collider itself, the movie takes some time to get moving at full speed, but it's well worth the wait.
