Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”

I had not heard of these strange plaques until I stumbled upon this movie on Netflix. They're a cool little mystery, but one doomed either to be unsolvable or to be disappointingly mundane once solved. The movie does the best it can to wring an interesting story out of the material, but there's just not much to tell, so it pads with unnecessary life details about one of the investigators. A chilling piano score composed by the director, and some hand-drawn animation that re-enacts scenes from the past, help to make the movie feel more otherworldly than it is.
