As long as everyone already knows I'm years behind the rest of the culture, can I recommend That's My Bush! before Dubya actually concludes his presidency? We just finished watching the short series; it starts weak but gets pretty strong by the end. Using the Bush White House as a setting, Trey Parker and Matt Stone riff on ridiculous sitcom clichés like enemies trapped in a small space and the R-rated misunderstanding while eavesdropping. The cast includes (of course) the bumbling husband, the insecure wife, the wacky neighbor who keeps barging in, the sassy maid, the ditzy blonde secretary, and Karl Rove. It's good stuff if you like Parker & Stone's riffs on pop culture in other productions, and it makes for a fine sendoff for #43.

Rambling Phone Post
Does it make sense for me to keep my phone? Work has provided me with a cell phone. I broke my home phone last weekend, and I could buy another one at Target for ten bucks, but I wonder if I should finally kick the $45 monthly bill and stick to either the cell phone or something like Skype (for which I'd have to buy a mic). I turned to my trusted traditional source, the good old primer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois, but alas, it has finally been removed after all these years. This was one of the major how-to guides in the early years of the web, and it's the very guide that I used to teach myself HTML one weekend in 1996, from which this very site you're reading has since evolved. Thanks to Lori for sending me this: That gets me thinking: Do you think if people hadn't had the idea for crop circles until a decade later that the fad would have even happened? In this decade we have the tools on personal computers to fake images like this with photo-perfect results, and hoaxers could just distribute photos with the click of a mouse. Photos have been doctored for decades, of course, but now your grandma can do it, you know? Go »

I loved that show, too, actually. Everyone I spoke to thought it was "immature" (whatever that is supposed to imply), and I was quite sad when it went of Comedy Central.
And then CC picked up that horrible Lil Bush crap a bit later... :( Ugh!
