So I happened to find disk 1.1 of Queer as Folk (American version) at the library and it is rare to see disk 1.1 of anything so I checked it out. Um, given my proclivities you can imagine I rather liked it and not just for the porn, it seems to have a good plot too. I can only express my gratitude to the Fargo Public Library for stocking this kind of "filth". Is that even normal to find such things in the public library? I thought a lot of libraries only stock educational DVDs and classics and so forth. Darrell is not watching, partly because with his OCD he thinks there could be AIDS on the DVD itself... he is not prejudiced, he is just... weird... but I love him... :)

I've heard good things about it, and been meaning to see it someday.

Libraries are changing rapidly. I read somewhere that nearly all people visiting the library these days either go online on the public computer or check out DVDs. They stock what people want.

I've found an amazing variety in my public library's inventory (PG County, MD). That's how I watched the entire Sopranos run and semi-oldies like the first seasons of The Paper Chase and Hawaii Five-0 and oldies like Mission: Impossible. And they just got Avatar so I'll finally be able to see it.

As long as Sarah Palin isn't in charge, the libraries will stock pretty much anything that is not X-rated or illegal. Yeah, I do think the smaller the town, the less likely, but... good for Fargo!

Lol on loving a weirdo... it would be completely hypocritical for me to pass any kind of judgments on that, being both a weirdo and a weirdo-lover myself. Somehow, I even find it all the more endearing when someone manages to out-weird me... because that's a rare thing indeed! ;-D

Back in VHS days, their video selection was fairly lame, but I am more and more impressed lately.

Kelly and I went to the Bradenton library a few days ago. Not many people were browsing DVDs, but not many people were browsing books, either. The computers were swamped.

Armplay

So, It seems like our frequent thunderstorms have programmed me to become wide awake at bizarre times even when there isn't a storm. I am definitely going back to bed. First I wanted to comment on a strange trend in anime. Go »

D&D update

The guys made it to 4th level and then we added 2 new characters. We had a dragonborn warlord and an elf ranger, at 4th level we added an eladrin wizard and a dwarf fighter. Darrell is playing the fighter and warlord, Darrin has the ranger (though he's not exactly into the game so we're lucky if we're able to call him to the table to actually make his dice rolls) and I got the wizard even though I'm DM :-P. Found things, jerkishness, fuzziness

This morning I found my black pants that have been gone for nigh on a year. They weren't even anywhere weird. They were just on the floor in the closet. Go »

Office Party

Last weekend we went to an office party at my boss's lake house. We took Philip and he got along famously with my boss's dog, Willow, who is half greyhound and half husky. I like Willow quite a bit. Go »

Annoying

Darrell tells me that people actually care about *my* approval and they think I am rejecting them when in fact I am trying to keep away from them to protect them from my insanity. You guys are all awesome by the way... Wish I wasn't too insane to interact comfortably with anyone... Go »

goodbye dialup...

So, I've finally got some form of high speed internet though it's probably the slowest high speed they make (512 k). I like it though. It is so much better than what we had before. Go »
