Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”
From its glowing reviews, I was expecting some real insight into Mitt Romney, to see him as just a regular person instead of the practiced candidate on stage. And the documentary provided that, but it turns out that the real Mitt Romney is pretty much like you would imagine him: Very smart, sincere in his political beliefs, very family-oriented, praying often, sleepy on long flights, hustling to eat quickly between campaign stops, fussy about his hair, and happy to tussle with the grandkids. The closest thing to a surprise was seeing him pick up his family's trash around the hotel room several times as if he has OCD. It's not a bad movie, but it's a shame that it filmed the Romneys for six years and doesn't really have anything to reveal about them.
