the storm was past people were starting to move around and then I hear what sounds like a gunshot coming from the south east corner of our house......we walk out side and a tree half a block away crashed into the power lines ripping my transmission line off the house along with a a bunch of siding. Joy. not only no power but I have repairs to do before we can even get power back. the only highlight is that at least I'll have power before the end of the week. My parents live on Aquidneck island which lost one of the main transmission towers. they are looking at weeks before they get power again

One large tree came down in my neighborhood but didn't affect me and thankfully no one else. Power is good but I won't know about the new house for sure until the final walk-through Wednesday night.

Weeks is nothing we had months when we were living in Guam...reason to own a generator
yeah the island has too many people who know people they ended up getting the lion share of the manpower in the state for the first 2 days after the storm.....they have power.....I got mine back at about 8 am yesterday new service wire as well.....cable and internet this afternoon. I did most of the repairs on the house there is still a piece of outside corner trim that needs replacing.
The offending tree was chopped up by the city today I took a couple of logs to season and sculpt this spring

A good day in the studio
In general this week was horrible I got Gastro and lost a half my remaining class days to finish the pair of sculptures I'm working on.......however today was good I got about 3 hours of alone time in the studio, just my my tools (a pair of angle grinders with wood cutting/shaping disks) a block of wood and a dust collector......... I put about 5 inches of chips in the dust collector and got a good start on the last piece. Go »New adventures in Pain...

good afternoon/evening folks something happened on the way to work this morning, I touched my brakes and either my tires were cold or I hit some sand, the next thing I knew I was on the ground with my bike on top of me. The end result is I broke my right ankle. It's swollen a bit today and likely needs surgery I have an ortho appointment on monday and hopefully surgery on tuesday. Go »sticky nasty weekend

Sorry to hear it. I've been without power in the summertime for a few days post-hurricane and it's an annoying test of patience. Hang in there.
